- Proof of purchase must be provided by way of receipt or bank transaction history
- A water sample is required to be tested instore for all guarantee claims.
- Guarantee claims will only be assessed once all required information has been received.
Fish Compatibility
We will never knowingly recommend housing incompatible fish together.
Our staff will ask a few questions about your current aquarium setup, including tank size, filtration, water parameters, and existing livestock, to help ensure any new fish are suitable additions.
While we are happy to provide advice based on our knowledge and experience, it is also the responsibility of the consumer to conduct their own research regarding the care and compatibility of any livestock they purchase.
If you choose to house incompatible fish or decide not to follow the recommendations provided by our staff, all responsibility for any resulting injury, stress, illness, or death of livestock rests solely with the consumer.
Aggressive Fish
Some fish species, particularly Cichlids and other territorial species, can be naturally aggressive and unpredictable.
Even fish that are generally considered compatible may display aggression towards one another due to individual temperament, breeding behaviour, or territorial disputes.
You acknowledge that appropriate stocking numbers, suitable tank size, adequate hiding places, and rearranging aquarium décor when introducing new fish can help reduce aggression.
You understand that despite following best practices, some individual fish may still exhibit aggressive behaviour, and this cannot be guaranteed or prevented by our store.
Water Quality
It is the consumer’s responsibility to ensure their aquarium water parameters are appropriate for the fish they are purchasing.
We are happy to assist by testing your aquarium water for a $5.00 fee prior to purchase or when required for troubleshooting.
Returns, Buy-Backs & Surrenders
We do not offer buy-backs, store credit, exchanges, or fish trades for change of mind, unwanted livestock, or fish that become incompatible after purchase.
Where space permits, we may accept surrendered fish. Acceptance of surrendered livestock is entirely at our discretion and is not guaranteed.
All surrendered fish will be placed into quarantine before being placed on display or rehomed to minimise the risk of introducing disease, parasites, or harmful bacteria to our systems.
Our Commitment
Our goal is to provide healthy livestock and honest, knowledgeable advice to help every customer succeed in the aquarium hobby. By working together and following recommended husbandry practices, we can give every fish the best opportunity to live a healthy and happy life.
